Australia: Aldi launches Summer Delight ice cream

Aldi has recently announced the extension of its frozen desserts range in Australia with the launch of a new summer ice cream under the Milfina private label brand name.

According to Australian Food News, the new individual stick ice cream is called Summer Delight and consists of “caramel and vanilla flavoured ice cream which is dipped in chocolate and wrapped in biscuit pieces”. The product is described as being free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives.

Aldi is said to have expanded its frozen dessert range in mid 2015 in a bid to compete with other brands including Peter’s, Mars, and Street’s.

The Summer Delight ice cream range will be available from January 2016 priced at A$3.99 ($2.91).
