Argentina: Beer brand Quilmes opens ‘youth hostel’
The Argentinian brewery Quilmes has opened the doors to the Quilmes Hostel, promoting its beer brand by means of a venture into the hospitality sector.
Sited in Mar del Plata, a famous tourist destination on the Atlantic coast, the hostel is primarily geared towards young people looking for somewhere that offers “opportunities for new encounters at every moment they are there”, according to a report in Dossier Net.
Designed as a space of "interaction and fun", Quilmes Hostel is said to offer 14 rooms in the style of a ship’s cabin, in addition to colourful communal areas, a mix of modern and traditional decor and also a Quilmes Bar.
Those interested in making a ‘reservation’ need to upload a personal video message via the Quilmes website and share it on their social networks. The activities and experiences of those staying at the hostel will then be shared on the company’s Twitter account and Facebook page, according to reports.
“We are opening the doors to a hostel that is different and innovative, because we know that in spaces of this kind young people will have fun and will experience moments that are so varied that, when they leave, they won’t be the same”, commented Agustin Mostany, Quilmes brand manager. “Each encounter changes us and brings us something new, which is why we want Quilmes Hostel to create encounters that aren’t an end in themselves but a starting point for something more”.
